The Perfect Oversized Button Down Shirt

I love me a good oversized shirt. First of all, they are super comfortable. And second of all, they just give off an effortless cool-girl vibe. However, sometimes it can be tricky to find the right fit. You can try sizing up with your favorite shirt but that doesn’t always give you the right fit. That’s why when Sézane came out with an oversized version of their famous Tomboy shirt I snatched it up right away. I think the Max shirt is the perfect oversized button down shirt!

Sézane Max Shirt Review

I mentioned above that Sézane has a very popular button down shirt called The Tomboy. I have several of the Tomboy shirts and I love them! However, I find that they aren’t as oversized as I’d like. I know people that size up in the Tomboy for a more oversized fit. However, after trying the new Max Shirt, I prefer the fit of this one for that laid back, oversized look.

I’m wearing the size 4 (36) in the Max shirt, which is my usual size. I have sized up in the Tomboy to a size 6 but the size 4 Max shirt is even more oversized than that. It’s longer and more voluminous than the Tomboy.

I first bought the Max shirt in white – because everyone needs a simple oversized white shirt in their closet! I loved it so much that I thought I’d try out this limited edition striped shirt. I love white shirts but with two kids it’s not always the best idea. So I loved that this one was patterned and less likely to show stains or marks. I feel like I can wear this one more often.

Since this top is so oversized I like to pair it with skinny jeans. This pair is also from Sézane and I love them. They are my go-to skinny jeans now. And I thought these woven mules from Freda Salvador were a nice compliment to the striped top.

I did recently wear my white Max shirt with a pair of black leggings and sneakers for my flight from PA to California. I thought it was the perfect plane outfit – super comfortable and chic!
